DC Library Welcomes Everyone Back!!

The DC Library would like to welcome everyone back! We hope everyone had a great summer - maybe time to travel and relax!

We have a lot going on at the library. To note just a few...

- - Library Sessions. Be sure to schedule your library sessions. The Fall semester is typically our busiest time. We will make every effort to get you your preferred day and time. Come by the library or call us at 206-7267.

- - Revised Library Site! Our Library site was just released on Wednesday afternoon, so check it out. Also, due to popular demand our web space in MyPima (look for the Library tab) and our public web space are nearly identical. Check them out and let us know what you think!

- - New Items! As always, new materials came in throughout the summer, so come and check them out!  On a similar note, if you have an item that you would like to have the library add to its collection, that would supplement your course(s), please send us the name, author and year published and we will make every attempt to order it. It takes about 4 weeks for new items to appear on our shelves, so let us know early!

As always, the library is here for your students and you. If there is anything we can do for you, just let us know!

Reserve Your Library Sessions Now!

DC Library Learning Studio
Welcome Back Everyone! We hope all had a great summer.

This is just a reminder that if you haven't already made your library session reservation for your class, to please do so soon. Our room is heavily requested and we would like to give faculty a chance to schedule their classes before we open it up to the other departments.

Remember, we can customize your library session to meet your needs - if fact, we love doing that so that the session is relevant to your students. We can do a short session of 15 minutes or an entire class period. We can do one session or a couple of sessions. (Of course, if we do a short session you can stay in the learning studio for the remaining portion of your class.) We can even do a library session in your classroom if you want. (If you don't have a computer classroom, we can bring some computers with us.)

If you are not familiar with our learning studio, it seats 40 students, has dual SmartBoards and writable walls. These features give us greater capability for interactive activities and collaboration. If you haven't seen our new room, feel free to stop by the library and we will show you around.

You can call the library at x7267 and we can set a session up for you. Faculty have priority until September 6th, when the learning studio calendar will be opened for other Downtown requests.

DC LIbrary Welcomes You Back!

The DC library wants to welcome everyone back for our Spring semester! We hope everyone had a relaxing holiday break.

Just a couple reminders about the library...
  • Schedule your class - Now is the time to schedule your classes for library instruction. We will be coming to your class this semester and bringing along the laptop cart. The laptops will allow us to do sessions like we have in the past, with the exception of printing. We only have one laptop cart, so the sessions are first-come-first-served. Call us at x7267 to set up a day and time!
  • Course Reserves - If you have any items you need on course reserves for this semester, please bring them in as soon as possible! Also if you need to reserve items for a specific time for your class, please come and make arrangements to have those items put on reserve for you.
  • Amethyst Room - Reminder we are in the Amethyst Room, sharing space with the computer commons. While our collection may be limited, we brought our most popular items. Also, remember we can request books from other campus libraries to be sent here. (usually a two day delivery)
If there is anything else we can help you with, or if you have questions, please feel free to stop in or give us a call at x7267.

Have a great semester!!
